INTO THE WILDERNESS

A combination of colder weather and lots of work to do inside means this year has started with a lot of time at my desk and not as much time as I would like out and about in the great outdoors. So this weekend, after getting back from meetings London, I was reunited with my family and we all bundled into the car and drove into the desert. We were staying at our favourite place, the Alpaca Farm (http://www.alpacas-farm.com/) by the giant crater in the Negev at Mizpe Ramon. Fortunately for us, friends had gone ahead and we were greeted by the glow of an open fire on which was cooking a delicious dinner. We ate under the stars and enjoyed the peace of the desert. That night we all slept well, with some getting up early to ride to the edge of the crater and the rest of us to enjoy the sound of desert nothingness as we woke.
